Prediction,

Good step up for Ortiz. Ortiz is only 20, but he is another one of these young prospects who seems to have a promising future, like Haney, Garcia, Lopez, and Ortiz's power seems to be on another level, he has 100% KOs after 10 fights, people have tabbed him as a real puncher. Ortiz was a good amateur, was fighting nationally as early as 2012, came 1st in the National Silver Gloves Championships 3 times. As a professional, Ortiz has 2 years' experience, has 6 1st round finishes, has been into round 3, 3 times, but has stopped all his opponents inside 3 rounds. Ortiz's opposition, for his age, has been good, in his last fight, he fought Juan Carlos Salgado, who stopped Jorge Linares in 1 round, but still, Salgado, well past his best, having lost most of his last 10, and Ortiz, at 20, 10-0, still not really fought anyone considering the timing aspect, he is untested.

Roberto Ortiz has a good record, 35-3, but at world level, he hasn't had any success, at Fedecaribe, and even Silver level, he has been successful, but when he fought Matthysse, he was stopped in 2, and when he fought Seldin, who was then dropped, domimated, found out as not good, when he fought him, he was stopped in 3, it was a mismatch, so Ortiz, 32, and not a fresh 32, he is coming off two losses in a row, having lost his last fight as well.

Vergil has not fought an opponent as experienced as Roberto, it is a step up, but definitely not too much, too soon, even if Vergil is very young and inexperienced, because Roberto is not world level, and he is not in his prime, he isn't durable, and I think Vergil can finish this fight early, make a statement.

I think this will be a mismatch, Vergil will stop Roberto in 2 rounds.

This should be a good one I hope.

Good statement from Ortiz!
I'm impressed by Ortiz, that was a good performance, he has serious power, is learning, and is ready for tougher opponents than Roberto Ortiz.

Did I do something wrong to get my comment deleted?

What comment?

Matchroom's picture

About how I like Vergil Ortiz's style and power more than Funtes Jr. who we watched last night. Says it was deleted, sorry if it wasn't but I'm not seeing it anywhere.

Champion97's picture

I did not delete it, I do not have an answer, sorry.

I think you made that comment on the Rocha card.
