Prediction,

Opportunity of a lifetime for Crolla, he has nothing to lose, has already done himself proud, nobody expects him to pull off what would be possibly the biggest upset in boxing history, there is no pressure on him, he just has to keep believing he can win, try his 100% best.

This is somewhat a tune up for Lomachencko, one of those fights he just takes to stay active, which is fair enough.

Lomachencko's shoulder injury makes this fight more interesting, the labrum is a bad thing to tear, it's the sort of injury that might never fully heal. In the Pedraza fight, Lomachencko was good, it was one sided, but he didn't get the stoppage, and although it was one sided, it wasn't as one sided as I thought it would be, it seemed like he didn't want to use his right hand, early in the fight, didn't have the same output he has had in the past. I think Lomachencko's shoulder is a real issue for him, as he gets older, goes through more rigours, it will probably get worse if anything. Lomachencko's shoulder definitely affected him mentally, probably physically as well, in the Pedraza fight, it will be interesting to see if it is more of a problem for him in this fight.

If Lomachencko's shoulder is more of an issue in this fight than in his last fight, that gives Crolla slightly more of a chance, but I think for him to have the beating of Lomachencko based on the labrum issue, he would need both Lomachencko's labrum's to be ruptured, still, nothing is impossible in boxing, and Lomachencko having the shoulder issue certainly doesn't hurt Crolla's chances of winning.

I think Crolla is top 150, he is not bad at any level, but he is also likely not to be the fighter he was in 2016, he is not top 100, and Lomachencko is a great fighter, a top level fighter, no doubt, so for Crolla to win, there has to be a factor.

I think Crolla is about as good as Marriaga, so given that Lomachencko won every round against and stopped Marriaga and better fighters like Walters and Rigondeaux, you might expect him to do the same against Crolla, but although Lomachencko has had 2 fights at 135, Crolla is the natural lightweight, which might still make it slightly harder for Lomachencko to dominate Crolla, and of course there is the shoulder issue, so I don't think this will be as much of a mismatch as people think.

If Lomachencko didn't have the shoulder issue, and this was down at 130, I would say he's ahead 80-72, and Joe Gallgher stops the fight, but I think he'll be ahead 98-92 on average, stop him in 11. I think it will still be a one sided fight overall, it will still be Lomachencko's easiest fight at 135 so far, but I think Crolla will make it fairly competitive, maybe win a round or two, do better than people expect.

Champion97's picture

Great performance from Lomachenko, the shoulder seems to have healed well, doesn't need to be 100%, but top athletes pay for the best surgery, rehabilitation, for a reason. I think Lomachenko is still at his best, beats Mikey, Tank. Lomachenko vs Tank is a great match up, shame about all the promotional issues. Lomachenko would destroy Teofimo Lopez, it would not be a competitive fight.

Gutted for Crolla, losing like that, he was always probably going to lose, but I did not think he'd go out like that, definitely not early, he should retire, he has had a good career, been a world champion, should be very proud, but it is time for him to hang up the gloves, no good reason to continue, nothing to prove.

I hope Lomachenko gives Lopez a cold dose of reality and fights him...and beats the absolute shit out of him.
He acted like a complete moron yesterday, him and his dad.

What did he do

Hope Loma can fight an opponent who the public believe in but network issues will probably get in the way.
