Prediction,

Great match!

I think Tyron Zeuge is very underrated, German fighters, and Eastern European fighters have never gotten the credit they deserve, Klitschkos, Braehmer, Abraham, world champions, defence after defence, they don't get the credit and recognition they deserve. Zeuge has been really impressive in his last two fights, made a statement against Ekpo, stopped him in 2, before that, schooled Paul Smith, a well past prime Smith, but he dominated him, his best career victory was probably the Di Carolis win, first one was a draw, second one was competitive, but he got a last round knockout. This is a good test for Zeuge, a tough opponent. Zeuge needs wins against names people recognise, I think Fielding is the biggest name of his career so far, he can certainly build his name more as far as the UK fanbase goes, but for recognition in the US, I don't think this fight will change his reputation much, and at the moment, he is considered the weak link, by a lot of people.

Rocky Fielding is good, outside of his one loss, a first round KO defeat to Callum Smith, he has been impressive, he is coming off 5 straight wins. I remember when Fielding knocked Luke Blackledge out cold in one round, in November 2013, on the undercard of Froch vs Groves, that was a statement, and since, he has done well. Fielding didn't even look bad against Smith, it just caught fire very, very early, someone was likely to do down, Fielding landed punches, showed guts, but Smith, durable, a puncher, and a precise, skilled offensive fighter. Fielding isn't always impressive, I've seen sloppy performances from him before, he makes mistakes, he does some things very well, he has talent, but I don't think he is a good defensive fighter at all really, and I don't think he is great at sticking to a game plan, being consistent, but still, he is a good fighter, wins most of the time, can really fight. Two of Fielding's last 5 wins have been SDs, beating Christopher Rebrasse and John Ryder, but close. Fielding's win over Ryder looks good now, given what Ryder has achieved since the fight, knocking out Patrick Nielsen and Jamie Cox. Fielding's win over David Brophy, in one round, was very impressive, Brophy didn't look bad, it was just another one of those, where it just catches fire early, and it is a short fight. I think Fielding has improved over the last few years.

Zeuge is likely to be the favourite, on the basis that he is unbeaten and the champion.

Fielding is 30, Zeuge is 26, so Zeuge has less time pressure on him, it is more of a case of now or never for Fielding.
Fielding has had 27 fights, Zeuge, 23, and Fielding made his debut in 2010, Zeuge, in 2012, so Fielding, maybe the more experienced, although he hasn't done more rounds than Zeuge.
Neither fighter has been inactive over the past year, Zeuge fought Smith, went 12, a year ago, then went 1-2 rounds against Ekpo 3 months ago, so maybe he hasn't been as active as ideal, but ring rust shouldn't be an issue for him I don't think. Fielding, I think similarly, went 12 against Ryder, 14 months ago, then beat Brophy in October in a round, but he did win a small fight, an 8 round bout, earlier this year. If anyone has the advantage of being more active, it is Fielding, but there isn't much in it, and it might not be a factor in this fight.

These guys have the same KO ratio.
I think both guys hit harder than their KO ratios suggest.

I think Fielding has a good shot in this fight, but I think I'd lean towards Zeuge.

I think Zeuge will edge this one, MD, 114-114, 115-113, 117-111. I think Fielding will do well, give Zeuge all sorts of problems, but not win, close though.

What a win for Rocky Fielding!
Fielding was brilliant in this fight, it was his time, it was the best opportunity he was ever going to get, and he did it, won, boxed and fought very well, had prepared, was experienced, ready. Zeuge can come back, 26, he's young, he got beaten up against Fielding a bit, but only for a round or two, a few more rounds of that could have been bad for his career, so it was a good decision to throw the towell in, save a fighter for another day, and Fielding, with a lot to be proud of, you know you have conclusively won when the other team throw in the towell during an attack you are inflicting on your opponent.
