Re: Saul Alvarez vs Gennady Golovkin III
I think GGG will be very competitive in this fight and will surprise many. He'll fight a more age smart fight like he did in Japan recently. Canelo will try to exploit the apparent weakness of GGG's body exposed by Woodsman and will hurt him either in the middle or championship rounds. There's a good chance he might do enough damage to get a stoppage win in the late rounds however I think GGG is still like a rock for a 40 year old dude that is and will weather the storm to the final bell. I dunno if Malecinnamon can do enough piled up damage in the middle rounds then I think he might get a 10/11/12 round stoppage but I don't think GGG will let him. It'll be somewhat close like the previous fights but I think the age advantage will prevail and there will be no doubt as to who won this one so probably 116-112 and 117-111 varieties but it'll be unanimous this time. I think after this GGG will probably get fed to Munguia and Malecinnamon will probably get it on with Chat or Benavidez. Yeah, I pretty much figured Malecinnamon was not going to seek the rematch with the fighting pride of Indio, California none other than Dmitry Buffalo.....

Sadly, I think Alvarez stops him this time. I'm going with Alvarez by stoppage in about 9 rounds.

Re: Saul Alvarez vs Gennady Golovkin III
Prediction.
The first 2 fights were competitive and close, Canelo has been more active than Golovkin in the 4 years since the second fight, I don't think he's naturally bigger than Golovkin, but he's experienced at 168, Golovkin isn't, the weight favours Canelo heavily. Golovkin comes off a good win, and a good performance, Canelo comes off a loss, that might give Golovkin a mental edge. Canelo isn't young, it's possible he's started to decline, but he peaked after he beat Golovkin, and Golovkin must have declined a lot since then from 36-40, so the timing is well on Canelo's side. Golovkin still has a much better jab than Canelo, he's never relied on speed or quick reactions, his power is still there, but his resistance isn't the same, he's extremely slow, and he can't fight consistently, at a high tempo now, Canelo did better against Golovkin when he pushed him on the back foot, and his strength advantage will make it easier to back him up this time.
I think the fight will be competitive for about 4 rounds, Canelo will be on the front foot throughout, will make Golovkin work, Golovkin will throw power shots behind his jab, Canelo won't match Golovkin's output because of the jab, but he will defend well, and the first few rounds will take a lot more out of Golovkin than Canelo. I think as soon as Canelo is able to step in with the left to the body, the fight will change, the more Canelo lands, the easier a target Golovkin will be, Canelo will sap everything out of Golovkin with clean clusters of shots to head and body, will keep him under consistent pressure for 1-2 one sided rounds, Golovkin's shots will have no affect, and as soon as he's static, Canelo will stop him.
My prediction is Canelo in 7 or 8 rounds, I wouldn't be surprised if this went to the late rounds, but I expect Canelo to stop Golovkin at this stage.

Honestly wish Canelo would fight another fresher opponent, wouldn't be surprised if it's a stoppage.
On a different note, Has the Ruiz vs Ortiz fight been added? I believe I saw it once but can't find it.

Re: Saul Alvarez vs Gennady Golovkin III
Neither canelo or golovkin had good performances in their last fights imo.
However, the difference is canelo was fighting at a weight he's only fought at once before whilst golovkin was fighting at the only weight he's ever fought at. I also think murata is far from GGGs best opponent yet he didn't look great against him.
I think that's a sign of golovkins age catching up to him. That ,combined with the fact that this fight is at super middleweight, I'd be fairly surprised if golovkin won this.
I still think he definitely has a chance and I think the fight will be competitive, but I think canelo will win a convincing UD this time (116-112, 116-112, 115-113). I'm surprised how many people think golovkin will be stopped in this fight as he's got an iron chin. I could maybe see canelo hitting him with a great body shot but I still think this fight goes the distance.

Re: Saul Alvarez vs Gennady Golovkin III
Predicition:
Golovkin picks up all the vulnerabilties and weaknesses shown by Canelo when he got schooled and embarassed in the Bivol fight and capitalizes on it and winning by close decision. Unless of course, Canelo bribes the judges again and wins by robbery.

Re: Saul Alvarez vs Gennady Golovkin III
Apparently two of the three judges that have previously scored the GGG-Canelo fights will be judging this fight. Steve Weisfeld scored it 115-113 in the second fight for Canelo, and Dave Moretti scored the second fight also for Canelo. To be fair, he scored for Bivol in the Canelo-Bivol fight. I'm not jumping the gun and assuming anything, I hope it's a fair and thrilling fight.

Re: Saul Alvarez vs Gennady Golovkin III
I thought this was a terrible performance from Canelo, the first thing he did was rush out with a wild left hook, he didn't set up his shots like he normally does, the right to the body was an issue because Golovkin was turning so he'd take the shot to his back, but I don't see a reason why he didn't step to his left and throw the left hook to the body, and he should have thrown more combinations. This was the first time in a while that I wasn't impressed by Canelo's ring cutting, Golovkin struggled to work because of the speed difference, he struggled to keep his balance and control his position, but he wasn't under consistent pressure, I think Canelo resorted to playing possum in the late rounds because Golovkin was on the defensive, and the stoppage was on his mind. I think Canelo's mentality was affected by the loss to Bivol, he didn't fight with his normal balanced mindset in this fight, and because of the history with Golovkin, he went after the KO.

As Canelo saus, "Horrible fighter" that was Canelo last night. Canelo needs to go back to using clenbuterol for his stamina issue. The fact that he got tired versus a 40 year old senior citizen is very concerning. If that was dmitry or david Canelo will get knocked out, punished, and hospitalized right then and there.

Re: Saul Alvarez vs Gennady Golovkin III
This was a truly awful main event and simply terrible to ask American/Canadian fans to pay $85 for a glorified sparring match.
This was the worst version of Canelo we have seen in many years, and possibly his worst performance in a title fight ever (excluding vs Mayweather), even worse than against Bivol. I have no idea why Canelo didn't focus on the body, when Murata had success there and GGG is proven to have a titanium chin. Canelo is definitely out of his prime now and has noticeably regressed, abandoning his jab and just looking for one big power punch at a time. I suspect after being able to effectively stop Kovalev and Saunders with one huge punch, Canelo has fallen in love with his power which has led to low punch output, which makes him a sitting duck for the Bivols of the world.
This was also the worst version of GGG we have ever seen. He is totally shot now, and like Canelo, it's baffling why he head-hunted and neglected the body. While I understand his speed and reflexes are shot, it was still extremely disappointing to see he learned nothing from the 2nd Canelo fight: he didn't let his hands go, he was content to stay on the backfoot for most of the night, and he neglected the body.
GGG should retire, and Canelo is due another loss soon. I would pick Benavidez (via decision) at 168, and Bivol (via decision) and Beterbiev (via KO) at 175 all to beat Canelo. Unfortunately, I don't think Canelo will choose to face Benavidez or Beterbiev any time soon. The best we can realistically hope for as boxing fans is a Bivol rematch, and Bivol would win even more convincingly than the first time.
