Prediction,

Burnett is coming back from a major injury, I believe it was a slipped disc, in a fight he was expected to win, against a great fighter who is well past his prime, it was a freak injury, very unfortunate for Burnett. If Burnett has done everything the doctors told him to do, he might have a chance of recovery, but with major injuries, you can never guarantee there won't be some level of long lasting vulnerability, which there probably will be, and boxing is a brutally honest sport, any issues you have with joints or muscles, in a hardcore sport like this, will be a problem. We won't know how close to fully healed Burnett is until the fight, but it would be a remarkable recovery if he could get back to where he was.

I think Gomera is a level below anyone Burnett has fought in the last 2 years, Burnett at his best, should beat him easy, and that's wise, for Burnett's first fight since the injury, he shouldn't risk it against an opponent on the level of his last 4 opponents. Gomera is 14-5, not a good record, he has fought a couple of world title challengers, fought Can Xu as well, who was in a great fight against Jesus Rojas earlier this year, but Gomera's title wins are Phillipino and OPBF silver.

I think Burnett is better than anyone Gomera has fought before, so at his best, I think Burnett stops him, and it's an easy fight, but how Burnett can do after his injury is a good question, and if this is a tough fight for Burnett, that will prove he hasn't fully recovered and maybe never will.

I think Burnett will be very cautious, will not do more than he has to, to win the rounds, pick up the points. If Gomera tries his best, it could be a fairly competitive fight, Burnett won't be out to make a statement, but I still think Burnett wins without too much trouble.

I think Burnett wins a wide UD.
