Prediction,

I don't think this is a 50/50 fight, but it is still a battle of the unbeatens, which is always good to see.

Vivas is 17-0, hasn't had fewer fights than Villa, but it is the amateur pedigree and level of opposition so far that is likely to be the difference, Vivas has no amateur record on Boxrec, Villa fought Shakur Stevenson 3 times as an amateur, beat him once, he fought in the US national golden gloves in 2015, Olympic trials in 2016, wasn't a great amateur, but a decent amateur. As a professional, neither fighter has fought a world title challenger, but almost half of Vivas's opponents have had losing records, 3 of his last 8 have had losing records, 10 of Villa's opponents have had winning records, 3 have had losing records, which is not many, there isn't a lot in it for level of opposition as professionals in my opinion, but Villa's opposition has been better, and he has all the amateur pedigree, so he is the favourite in this fight.

Villa is a good prospect, seems to have potential, good skills, but based on his first 16 fights, he isn't a puncher, he only has 5 KOs, it is better in terms of getting the rounds, but it also means it will be harder to swing it if he is losing a fight to more experienced fighter, and a good learning fight which he would still win is a loss because of his lack of power. Villa went 10 rounds for first time in his last fight, and because most of his wins have been by decision, he has done 8 rounds many times.

Vivas has 9KOs, that suggests he hits harder than Villa, that doesn't mean he necessarily does, because his opposition has been weaker, but it makes the fight more interesting. Vivas has been 10 rounds twice, so although Villa has done more rounds than him, the 10 rounds might not be in favour of either fighter.

I think Villa wins this by UD, similar to his last fight, but wider, Lopez (Villa's last opponent) is possibly better than Vivas, but I think Villa will have learned and improved from his last fight.
