Close fight, interesting fight, shouldn't have been, but it was a good fight, and it was a big upset. Ramirez was terrible, underestimated Gonzalez, thought it would be a walk in the park and making a statement as the only thing he had to even try to do, and the win was in the bag, some debuts are like that, but Gonzalez, at 4-2, wasn't a fighter with miles, didn't have a losing record, wasn't experienced in the pro game either, but he knew Ramirez as a fighter, was there to win, 'I have no wife because boxing is my life' is what they said after the fight I believe, so although Ramirez could have done a lot better, let himself down, he wasn't in against a bum who was there just for money or to fight a big name.

I was surprised by the knockdown, Ramirez shouldn't have been caught like that, it wasn't a heavy knockdown, but it was legitimate, it wasn't even the best shot, and it was about the poor positioning of Ramirez. Ramirez seemed to neglect his jab, had no real game plan. What a terrible start for a two-time Olympic gold medallist, he needs to get his head down, go back to the drawing board, get a fight within the next 3 months, against an easy opponent, just as a confidence boost, and then fight again as soon as possible, but Ramirez has a lot way to go, has a lot of rebuilding to do before he be considered in the mix amongst the top fighters at 126.
