Prediction,

I think Selby wins this, he is past his prime at 32, but Burns is further past his at 36. Burns is an absolute veteran, had 51 fights, but with that, he has miles, been in some damaging fights, never been stopped, but still has a fair few miles. Selby doesn't have the experience that Burns has, but he is also an experienced fighter, had 29 fights, and he is fresher than Burns.

I think Selby is a much more talented fighter than Burns, he has under achieved overall in my opinion, whereas Burns has definitely over achieved, going from losing at British level, to winning world titles at 3 weights. I think Selby has more versatility than Burns, has more skills, but he makes the same mistakes he always has, Selby, and Burns makes fewer mistakes, is a much better basic boxer.

I think the weight favours Burns, he is probably a natural lightweight, seems to be much better at 135 than 140, Selby might a similar natural size to Burns, he was massive at 126, was probably drained against Warrington, but he went from 126 to 135, having been at 126 for almost his whole career, had never had a 12 round fight or a title fight above 126, and the Douglas fight was more competitive than it would have been if he'd fought at 130. Burns's career has been at 130-147, Selby is a career featherweight even if he isn't a natural featherweight.

Burns comes off basically a year out, he fought twice in 2018, his last fight was the Cardle win, great performance, but his only other fight in 2018 was a 6 round fight. Selby beat Douglas 8 months ago, probably the right time to fight again after that, Selby's his last successful title defence was in December 2017, 2 months after Crolla vs Burns. Selby has been the more active fighter.

I think it will be a good fight, Burns will be the stronger fighter, can still take Selby's punches, and he will stop Selby in his tracks with the jab, back him up as well.

I think Burns will get off to a very slow start, won't be able to hurt Selby, won't get the better of him technically either, and it will be a fairly wide win for Selby.

As James DeGale said a few months ago "The Retirement Fight". Selby, an immensely talented fighter wasted so long of his career destroying himself to make 126. It is concerning that he has been cut in his last few fights. However, he is far from finished. His ring IQ and skills are very underrated and will be shown more than ever at 135, where he will have that extra speed speed advantage and likely more power. He's stayed in the gym regularly and the weight will play no part in this fight as both are more or less the same size.

Burns proved against Cardle he's still at a certain level. Before that fight he done well in a very competitive fight with Crolla. Being a three weight world champion, he's had an amazing career. However he's always struggled against and at times been outclassed by boxer's. His best chance is to use his head and try and rough Selby up in a similar way to Warrington. Though I doubt this will work as Selby is composed even when cut (as we saw against Douglas).

I predict a late stoppage or wide decision victory for Lee Selby.

Apologies, fixed

Good fight, more or less what I expected, not a great fight, but decent. Selby boxed fairly well, used good movement, didn't let Burns fight his fight, and Burns wasn't bad, but he is well past his best, and he should retire in my opinion. I think Selby would be better at 130, I think he is past his best, and I don't think he would beat Campbell.
