Power Brokers: George Foreman vs. Lou Savarese
Linear Heavyweight Champion George Foreman makes the second defense of his crown against Lou Savarese in a hard fight. Savarese opts to stand and slug with Foreman throughout the bout, seemingly pulling ahead on work rate but suffering a cut over his left eye early. Foreman saves his best for the final third of the fight, drilling Savarese during the ninth round and continuing to land big shots down the stretch. After Referee Eddie Cotton docks Savarese a point for a low blow a bit prematurely in the eleventh, Foreman drops some bombs on Savarese in the twelfth to take the fight by a split decision.
