Prediction,

Oubaali is good, I think he is top 3 in his division, he beat Rau'shee Warren by a fairly wide UD, proved himself at world level, he was a very good amateur, 15-0 as a professional, not a lot of fights, but enough for a good amateur who has been fast tracked, and he has been the 12 rounds against Warren, won the title, and that was probably a great learning fight for Oubaali as well his best win so far. I don't think Oubaali has a long career ahead of him, he is 32, which is old for a bantamweight, but I think he will be in big fights in the next year or two.

Villanueva is not bad, steady away, he is a veteran, 36 fights, he's still not old at 30, and he has a decent record, 32-3. Villanueva lost to Arroyo, Nery, Tete, all decent fighters at world level, he wasn't on the same level as any of them, got beat wide by Arroyo and Tete, and Nery stopped him in 6, but he did drop Nery, only real success he had in the fight, but it was a legitimate knock down. Villanueva comes off a 10 round draw, not against a good opponent, so his form hasn't been great, but he has been active, will probably be a lot better in this fight than he was in his last fight.

I think Oubaali will stop Villanueva, he can punch a bit, Oubaali, doesn't have the power of a Nery or Inoue, but he can punch, Vilanueva doesn't have a good chin, has been down at least 5 times in his career, and most were outside his losses, so he can definitely hurt him, Villanueva can punch a bit himself, so it will be interesting if he can test Oubaali's chin, but I think Oubaali hits harder than Villanueva.

I don't know if Oubaali will just do everything right, systematically break Villanueva down, or if hw will push for the stoppage, be more aggressive, try to make a statement, he has the WBC title, he is the champion, so the Nery fight should happen, and he probably doesn't need to enhance his reputation in this fight, because the Nery fight is the biggest fight of his career, and I think it will happen next.

I think Oubaali will stop Villanueva late, I think it will be competitive early, but Oubaali will win most of the rounds, might put Villanueva down a few times, hurt him, and be quite dominant overall, Villanueva will take some beating, but Ouballi will land a lot of clean, draining shots to head and body, will break down Villanueva, and he'll stop him, maybe in 9.

Oubaali vs Nery makes sense for both, hopefully fight happens either at the end of this year or the start of next year.
