Prediction,

Mthalane did great in his last fight, at 35, very old for a flyweight, he won the IBF title, beat Wasseem, who was undefeated, inexperienced, but not so inexperienced that he couldn't do well at world level, especially as such a good amateur, so Mthalane did well to beat him. Mthalane is 36, he is very old, he will only decline, he has been in some tough fights, and he did get up off the deck against Wasseem, but based on the Wasseem fight, he is not shot, and he is still not bad at world level.

This is a great opportunity for Sakamoto, he is 13-1, he is lucky to get this opportunity, but he is 27, he will probably be much better than he's ever been in this fight. Sakamoto is a former Asian champion, he won the title against Ekkawit Songnui, a veteran, former world champion, but a 35 year old Songnui, with a lot of miles. Sakamoto defended against Wicha Phulaikhao (who Songnui won the WBA 105lb world title against in 2010), a veteran, two time world title challenger, but a 37 year old, more or less shot, blown up Phulaikhao. Sakamoto has 1 loss, that was in 2016, against Sho Kimura, who upset Zou Shiming for the WBO title, defended it until he lost a close decision to unbeaten Kosei Tanaka. The Kimura fight was an MD, Sakamoto lost, but he competed, did very well against a fighter who proved he was world level when he beat Shiming.

I think Sakamoto will do well, he can punch a bit, if he is a really hard puncher, Mthalane could be in trouble, he's also big for the weight, Sakamoto.

For experience, who's done what at world level, there is no comparison, Mthalane might simply be a level above, and still be able to have the better of Sakamoto despite his age.

I think Mthalane will edge this, but it will be close, maybe even an SD, I would not be surprised if Sakamoto won this, it depends on Sakamoto, but it also depends on how much the Wasseem fight has taken out of him, and how much he has declined since that fight.

I think it will be close, but Mthalane will win.
