Re: Manny Pacquiao vs. Juan Manuel Marquez IV
Definitely not a lucky punch but a hail mary punch definitely. Im just gonna throw this out there but that punch reminded me of the key moment from the 2004 ALCS game 4 Red Sox-Yankees where Dave Roberts stole 2nd base. If he didn't steel 2nd base the Red Sox were going home, If Marquez didn't land that punch, that fight was on the way to being stopped by the corner or the doctors.

What a shock!
Pacquiao has two narrow victories over Marquez, very narrow, but this, wow, that was an explosive finish. Pacquiao, tactically, made a lot of mistakes in this fight, he should have known better, having battled it out against Marquez 3 times before, and only just, by the skin of his teeth, beaten him. This is the reason why defence is tacticallyso important in boxing, when it comes to a dangerous puncher like Marquez, able to connect with that kind of power, landing a shot like that against an over adventurous Pacquiao, who is moving right forward into the shot, almost doubling the impact, it takes one shot to not only change the fight, but instantly finish it.
I think it would have been worse for Pacquiao had he landed back of the head first onto the canvas, that is always worrying, but no, usually, it isn't the one punch knock outs which cause problems for boxers, and Pacquiao didn't take a real beating here, although, it was a barn burner for 5-6 rounds, and he was dropped earlier in the fight.

Silly belt aside, that was a knockout for the ages.

I had not seen the fight since watching it live and I had forgotten just how exciting a contest it was prior to the colossal right hand by Marquez which ended the fight. Marquez seemed to be sitting down on his shots more in this fight than in previous contests, and until the end, Pacquiao seemed to have a good grasp on the contest. Great Fight
