Dempsey vs Tunney 1.

rorschach's picture

Don't see how that went against the judges decision, Tunney won the fight officially...

Boxing Purist's picture

A masterclass of the first order, Tunney kept at distance & within his range to box and land at will. He used excellent lateral movement to keep Dempsey's feet moving so he could never get set to throw his bombs. And when Dempsey did make a rush to get inside Tunney continously caught him coming in with blistering combinations. Dempsey for his part should have cut the ring off more, and worked his way to the inside with his jab. That way he could have blinded/froze Tunney with the jab, not making it so easy to pick him off with combinations, and made it easier to land his big shots on the way in. Dempsey was bewildered all night with Tunney's lateral movement and boxing ability, making it easy for Tunney to unseat the long reigning Heavyweight king.

Great username!
Welcome to Eye on the ring!

Thank you very much for the warm welcome, what a amazing Site! Although I'm having trouble finding some of the fights like Jack Johnson's for example. I hope I'm doing it right by just saving my card. I don't know where some of these guys are finding film to score these haha.

Yeah it's not too bad. Yeah just click 'save, keep scoring'.

I think you have to buy the DVD, sorry.

Are you from the US? UK? Or other?

Boxing Purist's picture

I'm from the US, where are you from? I was also wondering if there was someone I need to talk to to get a fight card added for Joe Louis vs James Braddock? That's the fight where Louis won the title, and since I'm working on louis' career and that fight is available on YouTube I was wondering if someone might add it for everyone? Is this your site?
