Prediction,

I rate Dogboe very highly, when he is at his best, I think he will be a great fighter, he proved himself at world level with the Magdelano win, and his first title defence was very impressive, first round destruction of Otake, who Scott Quigg couldn't stop. I think Dogboe is the best in his division, I think Daniel Roman is his best rival, Rey Vargas is good, it would be great to see a unification fight.

I don't think this is a bad match up, but it is not as good a match up as it could potentially be, I don't think there is any reason for Dogboe to have two easy fights in a row, this might not be a walk in the park, and Navarrete might have a good record, 25-1, he is 23, he hasn't been stopped, hasn't lost since 2012, when his opponent hadn't shown up to the weigh in, but he hasn't fought at a high enough level to get a world title shot in my opinion, he is only 23, he has plenty of time, he should have fights between the level of his previous opponents and Dogboe, this is a leap up in levels, and I don't think he is ready.

Navarrete has only had one 12 round fight, that was his last fight, he knocked out Jose Sanmartin (26-4-1) in 12 rounds, that's not an impressive win at world level, but he was the first guy to knock him out, also, his opponent before that, Breilor Teran, 15 losses, didn't win a round against Narvaez, Reveco, but these guys couldn't stop him, and Navarrete stopped him in 4 rounds, Jhon Gemino, 16-8, but went into round 10 against Tugstsogt Nyambayar, Navarrete stopped him in 5 rounds.

Navarrete has 85% KOs, I think he is a very dangerous fighter, he hasn't been down as far as BoxRec says, so that makes the fight more interesting, because there is a risk aspect for Dogboe, his chin is questionable, he did get dropped early against Magdelano, but that was the only time he has been knocked down. If Navarrete has a granite chin, can soak up Dogboe's power even for a few rounds, then the fight will be interesting, Dogboe will have to rely on the fundamentals, get his boxing together, because if Navarrete has the better chin, and does hit as hard as his last few wins suggest, then Dogboe might not want to just go for it and, have a tear up the way he usually does, he didn't do that against Magdelano, he showed maturity beyond his years, boxed well, used his jab, so he has proved he isn't a fighter who is scuppered when can't just go hell for leather, proved he can be tactical, and he learned a lot in that fight, so I don't think Dogboe will seriously struggle in this fight.

I think Dogboe will start patiently, use his jab, and as the rounds go on, he will put more weight behind his shots, attack head and body, and gradually break Navarrete down, the body shots will take a lot out of him, and in maybe round 9, when he has beaten the fight out of Navarrete, he will land a shot he doesn't see coming, hurt him, drop him couple of times, inflict a sustained beating, and he will stop him. I think Dogboe will win almost every round, Navarrete might have his moments in a close early round or two, but Dogboe will be well ahead on the cards after 8 rounds.

I think Dogboe vs Roman is the best fight to be made at 122, I wouldn't be surprised if the fight happened next year.

Awesome fight!
What a fighter is Emanuel Navarrete!, he made a name for himself tonight and became world champion, fought the fight of his life. Dogboe might have underestimated Navarrete, he felt the power as early as round 1, he was struggling with the reach, when he got countered, he got hurt, he was tough, was swinging away even in that last round, but he got beaten fair and square. Dogboe is young, he can come back, I wonder if he should move down to 118, he's 5'2, very short for a super bantamweight, and he weighed in under 121, he was bullied in this fight, seemed like size and strength was an issue. Navarrete hits very hard, is a very dangerous fighter, I think him against Daniel Roman would be an awesome fight.
