Re: Ilunga Makabu vs Thabiso Mchunu II
Got Thabiso Mchunu winning 8-4, think the layoff will affect Makabu as he didn't look too good vs Durodola after the time off from the Cieslak. But I think Mchunu will get robbed. So Makabu MD probably.

Member Cards is the underdog for this fight. Malecinnamon and Reynoso seem to not have much faith in Cards' ability to retain so they've moved on to talk with Chat and I've heard Benavidez as well. I think Thabiso Nightstick will outbox him and get the UD.

Re: Ilunga Makabu vs Thabiso Mchunu II
Prediction.
Both fighters have improved a lot since the first fight, both are in their prime, but I was especially impressed by Mchunu's last performance. The stance aspect favours Mchunu heavily, Makabu hasn't fought a southpaw in 3 years, Mchunu's last 2 fights were against southpaws, both went 12 rounds, 4 of his last 5 fights were against a southpaw. I think Makabu is offensively better, he hits harder his punch selection and accuracy are better than Mchunu's, but Mchunu is defensively better, he has better footwork, has more speed in hand and foot. Both fighters can be hurt, but both have good recovery, but I think Mchunu's survival skill is better, Makabu tends to fight his way out of trouble, which is a high risk response to being hurt. Both fighters can fight off the ropes, but Mchunu can work off the back foot and use the ring, Makabu is more reliant on being on the front foot. Mchunu was ahead before he got knocked out last time, his jab was a problem for Makabu, Makabu had to work in the pocket even with the superior strength and power, but there were mistakes Mchunu made, which he doesn't have to make this time, he resisted Makabu's strength advantage, stood in the pocket, and fought Makabu's fight at times, he was very comfortable conceding the back foot against Tishchenko, and if he does that in this fight, and uses the ring, he has a better chance than the first time.
I think Mchunu will get off first, will throw 2 and 3 punch combinations, will be varied, but will be very mobile, Makabu will struggle with his speed, and he'll need time to cut off the ring and adapt to Mchunu's stance. I think Makabu will come on as the rounds go on, his timing will improve, he will do more damage in exchanges, will pick his shots and get off first more often, which will negate Mchhnu's offence, but Mchunu will still use his feet to create angles and be out of position to be hit, will be busy with his jab, and Makabu won't be able to swing the momentum in his favour. I think the late rounds will be close, Makabu will close the gap and impose his fight when he lands clean, will be dominant on the inside, but Mchunu will keep creating distance with his feet and landing combinations at mid range.
My prediction is Mchunu by a close decision, I wouldn't be at all surprised if Makabu won.

Terrible robbery, but it was expected with a Don King card and a potential Canelo fight on the line...

Re: Ilunga Makabu vs Thabiso Mchunu II
I thought Mchunu did enough to win the fight by counter punching, Makabu may look like the aggressor but he wasn't effective at all in my opinion. I don't think he's gonna last long against Canelo if he fights like that
