A pretty good fight, I do not recall seeing a single clinch in 13 rounds. The rematch was of a more tactical variety, both boxers moving cautiously, feinting and picking their shots carefully.

Lopez boxed beautifully, and was in control of the fight until round 8. At round 8, Espadas landed multiple unanswered body blows and the momentum swerved in his favour. However by round 10 Lopez regrouped and won round 11 and 12. Round 12 was by far the best round of this fight, it was scintillating; Lopez let his fists fly and battered Espadas multiple times in the head, however right at the end of the round Espadas fired two hard blows on Lopez's body and nothing was the same again.

In round 13, Lopez fell apart dramatically. For some reason he could not fend off Espadas and took a beating. He did not even punch back. Espadas pummeled Lopez to the ropes. Lopez, with both of his arm dangling lifelessly by his sides, was drowned in a torrent of punches as he lied on the ropes. The referee stepped in and stopped the slaughter. Espadas defended his title, and former champion Lopez was never the same again.

This fight did not have five dramatic knockdowns like their first meeting, but the abrupt change of momentum is just as stunning.

Indeed anything can happen in boxing.
