Re: Gervonta Davis vs Rolando Romero
Prediction.
I don't think this will be a competitive fight, there is no comparison for overall skill level, Davis has a better chin, hits at least slightly harder, and I think it will be fairly easy for him. Romero is totally reliant on his opponent being in the pocket and overwhelmed by his offence, he was briefly hurt by Yigit, who can do nothing like the damage Davis can, and Romero couldn't deal with Marinez's movement.
I think Davis will be cautious, will respect Romero's power, but he will look to establish his jab, will win the battle of the front feet and line up his left hand, and Romero will be well behind with the feet. I think as soon as Davis lands the left hand, Romero will be reluctant to lead off, Davis will get more confident, throw more combinations, Romero will be on the defensive, Davis will do a lot of damage to the body, will get more accurate as the rounds go on, and will stop Romero with a sustained beating.
I think Davis wins by mid stoppage, I think it will be his easiest fight since 2019.

I reckon it could be a slugfest. 8th round Davis KO.

Re: Gervonta Davis vs Rolando Romero
Gervonta Davis wins via one-sided domination inside 5 rounds.
After 3 solid opponents in Leo Santa Cruz, Mario Barrios and Isaac Cruz back-to-back-to-back, Romero will be a cakewalk. I'd be shocked if Romero won, Davis is simply levels above.
I'm happy that after this fight's conclusion, Davis will no longer be tied to Mayweather Promotions. I'm hoping he becomes a free agent and negotiates his own fights on a fight-to-fight basis, he has the drawing power to do so, hopefully we can see him in more interesting fights against bigger names like Haney, Garcia etc. now that Davis is his own man.

Re: Gervonta Davis vs Rolando Romero
Romero made a good account of himself, it was close for 5 rounds, he used his reach, was cutting off the ring well, and he caught Davis on the counter a few times, he could have lost a point with the low blows and elbows, but he was getting away with it. Experience was the difference, Davis knew the left was the shot Romero was most open to, but Davis had the skill to set up the right hook, he didn't really do that, which made it easier for Romero to pressure him at long range, his output was low, was exerting more movement than Romero, and seemed frustrated by Romero's dirty tactics, but he was choosing to look for the left hand off the back foot, and Romero wasn't controlling the pace. Fields made the right decision, a lot of referees would have let Romero continue, but he wasn't in a position to defend himself, he had little to no chance of surviving, and because it was one shot, and he wasn't knocked out cold, he got great experience without taking much damage.
