Young 19 years old Lionel Rose of Australia put on a masterful performance against Japan's relentless legendary 2-division world champion Fighting Harada (back before the days of 17-weight classes and multiple world 'champions'). Rose moved fluidly and purposefully to diffuse Harada's assault, threatened Harada at a distance with a raised probing left hand, and dropped his left to guard his body when Harada got close. But Rose impressed me the most with his accurate counter-punching to both the head and the body, earning a hard-fought decision in the champion's hometown.
