Re: Devin Haney vs Xolisani Ndongeni
Prediction,
Good fight, battle of the unbeatens, always good to see in boxing. Haney and Ndongeni have a combined record of 55-0.
I'm impressed by Haney, he has done very well in his last 2 fights, seems to be a very talented fighter who could well have the potential to be a top fighter when it's his time. In Haney's last fight, he won an overall shutout against a 3 time world title challenger, Burgos was a step up, it was a bigger fight than any of his first 19, and he walked it.
Ndongeni is 25-0, great record, quite an experienced fighter, he's 28, he's probably at his best, but he has not fought at a high level, he fought Mzonke Fana, who was stopped in 2 rounds by Marco Antonio Barrera, beaten by a landslide against Terry Flanagan, and Ndongeni struggled against Fana, it was a close fight, against a 40 odd year old Fana, so that's not impressive, he got the win, but I don't think Ndongeni is world level. Apart from Fana, I don't think Ndongeni has fought any world title challengers.
Ndongeni has competed at South African level, and at South African level, he's great, but when it comes to world level, he is leaping up in class, but the fact that Haney is only 20, still has a to prove, definitely makes it more interesting.
For Haney, he is fighting a guy younger, more active than Burgos, but also a fighter who's experience level doesn't compare to Burgos's, so I think this is an easier fight for Haney than the Burgos fight.
I think Haney wins 100-90 on all the cards, and if he was in his prime, he would get the stoppage, but even without getting the stoppage, it will still be an extremely one sided win.
