Prediction,

Good match up, big step up for Ali, and a big risk for Price. These are both probably good British level fighters, probably never going to be European champions, but still very good British level fighters.

Ali is unbeaten, 15-0, he has had one title fight, that was for the central area title, but his last 3 fights have been 6 round fights. Ali has not been past 6 rounds, he has been 4 rounds or more, 9 times, so he is an experienced 4 round fighter, but he hasn't been past 6. Ali's opposition has been poor overall, he's only beaten 2 opponents with winning records, but he did beat David Howe in 2 rounds, earlier than Allen, beat Paul Butlin in 4, earlier than Browne, still, not much to go on, and Ali hasn't fought any good British level fighters. Ali has been dominant in his last few fights, he's stopped 6 of his last 8, but he did struggle against Kamil Sokolowski, didn't get his first stoppage until his 7th fight. Ali is probably more of a puncher than his KO ratio suggests, but he is probably not really a puncher, it is almost definite that he doesn't hit nearly as hard as Price.

Price's stock has gone up in his last few fights, he showed a phenomenal amount of heart against Povetkin, was doing better than expected against Kuzmin, and he got the stoppage last time out, against Tom Little, this is another winnable fight for him, I think it's a step up from Little, but Ali has not fought at anything like the level Price has fought at, he has fought at European level against Hammer and Teper, a high level against Thompson, and even world level against Povetkin.

These are both established 4 round fighters, when it comes to fighting past 4 rounds, Price gasses, doesn't have the stamina, Ali has never been there, it will be interesting to see who is stronger as the rounds go on, the early rounds could be crucial, if Ali can back Price up and make Price respect his power, work his body early, he is likely to be stronger down the stretch, if Price is able to take it steady for 4 rounds, use his jab, pressure Ali, without working himself physically hard, he should be stronger later in the fight.

I think Price will win this, I think he will start well, hurt Ali, might put him down, and he will get the better of the first half of the fight. I think the second half of the fight will be competitive, close, and it will be a good fight. I think Price wins a UD, 96-93 or 97-92.

it's 14
