Prediction,

I think both fighters have similar styles, which favours Benavidez. Both fighters are flat footed, don't have the best technique, aren't good defensive fighters, but both are effective pressure fighters, are able cut off the ring even without fast feet or good footwork, both make the opponent work 3 minutes a round, and I think both look a lot easier to beat than they are.

Angulo fought in January, Benavidez hasn't fought since September, so the activity aspect favours Angulo, Benavidez missed the weight, whether that favours Angulo depends on the circumstances, if he's had a short camp, started camp heavy, it will favour Angulo, but if Benavidez couldn't lose that last 2 pounds, because he is still maturing at 23, that will favour him, if he isn't weight drained, he's already the bigger fighter at 168, if he's too big for the weight, and hasn't had to kill himself to make 168, it will be even harder for Angulo to hold his ground, but if Benavidez is weight drained, that obviously favours Angulo.

Benavidez is physically stronger, a come forward fighter who is rarely backed up, often struggles when he is forced onto the back foot, so that will be important. Benavidez has better variety, is more offensively versatile than Angulo, attacks head and body, might have the slightly faster hands. If Angulo fights his fight, doesn't take a backward step, it will be a competitive fight, but I don't think he has a good shot at winning, he hits very hard, Benavidez was down against Gavril, but he got hit with a shot he didn't see coming, and I think he has a good chin based on how he's taken good shots in other fights, I could be wrong, and if Angulo can hurt Benavidez, make him back up, it will be a more interesting fight, because it's likely Benavidez can't box on the back foot either, but Dirrell couldn't hurt him, and although he isn't defensively good, doesn't move his head, is always there to be hit, his blocking abilities are decent.

I think Benavidez hits harder than Angulo based on him stopping opponents at a higher level, and having the slightly higher KO percentage. Angulo might have a better jab than Benavidez, he jabbed his way in against Sims, throws a screw shot left hook, the jab to the body might be a good weapon for him against Benavidez, but I don't think he has the skill to out box Benavidez, and overall, I think it's Benavidez who has technical skills he doesn't use often in fights, and it's Angulo who's more technically limited.

I think Benavidez wins by UD, I wouldn't be surprised if he won by stoppage, but I think he'll respect Angulo's power, will have his guard up for most of the fight. I think Benavidez will be cautious, but will back Angulo up, and I think whenever Angulo's back touches the ropes, and Benavidez lets his hands go, he'll have success.

Benavidez failed to make weight. He didn't try to loose the weight and get weighed again, The belt is now vacant and only for Angulo to win.

BWAH! Red Flag??? More like Red Burrito. He better start laying off those Red Burritos or else he'll be joining Andy Ruiz and Cris Arreola in no time.

Kind of racist

I don't think I'll catch up on a fight as one sided as this, but I think Benavdiez should move up, he wasn't weight drained if he beat Angulo this easily, but he missed the weight by a couple of pounds, 168 will only get harder to make, all the champions at 175 are with different networks, and the Plant fight should have been made, but I don't see Benavidez winning a belt at 168, I don't see the Plant fight being next if it wasn't made as a unification, so Benavidez should move up.
