Re: Danny Jacobs vs Gabe Rosado
I'm not gonna post a card today, but I'm just going to say that Daniel did a poor job. Crazy thing is that I somewhat expected him to be disappointing yet I still felt frustrated. We all know DJ has a tendency to do JUST enough to make the fight close or at least competitive(In the case of Canelo), but here the man had no spark, and it's like he takes the idea of "fighting at the level of your opponent" to far. Rosado did a better job then I expected. I knew that despite his 12 losses he can be very competitive with contenders, even if he gets robbed quite a bit. I personally thought he won certain rounds on activity and clean punching overall, but I thought he didn't do quite enough to take the dub(Had it 114-114 DRAW). As for Danny, I don't know why he appeared to have no spark. One reason could be because of the reason I stated above, he makes just close enough without taking many risks. However alot of the fights he has coasted through were against literal P4P greats such as GGG and Canelo, and here he can't even beat a man who is supposed to be a gatekeeper at 168 pounds(A great gatekeeper nonetheless). Maybe he has an undisclosed injury, though giving the fact that even he should know that he performed poorly, he could have at least used some excuse after the fight about a bad shoulder or something idk. Another thing is he might have problems at home, though that can be very difficult to tell and also it's none of our business really(Not that I don't want his home life to be great). Either way, Jacobs better find out really quickly why he was down terrible yesterday, because he's gonna be in trouble if he faces a guy like Benavidez. Heck he might not even be in Matchroom after this since his contract ended with this fight and Eddie sounded pretty disappointed afterwards, thought I think he can still find another promoter after this since he is a good fighter to have on your pocket, though I highly doubt he will be making the kind of money he used to make for big fights after this...

Re: Danny Jacobs vs Gabe Rosado
It may be that he's content with what he's accomplished in his career and is just going through the paces at this point. Some of the stuff he says and his split with Rozier seems to suggest that. I think part of him not doing enough in the ring is just his limited ring IQ rather than coasting. He's also longer in the tooth now and doesn't have the physical advantage he had at 160.

Re: Danny Jacobs vs Gabe Rosado
It could also because it wasn't a big name he was fighting against. We see it all the time in boxing. A combination of lacking motivation and underestimating the opponent. Look at Callum Smith vs John Ryder. BJS a few times. Kell Brook several times. Even Tyson Fury did it against Wallin.

Poor Rosado, not only does he never seem to win close fights, they announced the wrong winner lol.

Re: Danny Jacobs vs Gabe Rosado
Sad how Rosado has so many close fights, and loses all of them.
