Any other scores? I'm aware that a lot of people scored the initial rounds in favor of Herrera. Yet...I just saw Herrerajab Danny most of the time. While the jab did make Danny to be more cautious, it didn't bring enough authority to control those rounds

Anyone who had Garcia winning this fight should watch the fight again in slow motion.

Actually I have just watched the first 4 rounds again...same result. Herrera's jab was good...but whatever followed it up wasn't so. I still don't get why people was favoring Herrera early in the fight

It's always great to see so many mixed opinions about a boxing fight, humble subjectivity makes boxing what it is.

I'll settle this for y'all.

I think Danny Garcia won this fight, very close, easy to disagree (most do), but I think get deserved to keep the belt. This fight was so interesting, and also, the aftermath was interesting, so many people saying Herrera won, some saying it was a bad decision, few people defending the decision, as long as it is kept controlled and genuine conflict isn't caused by it, this kind of objection amongst fans is good for boxing, because to a degree, it is subjective. I think Garcia came to the fight in great shape, mentally, in a good place, I don't think he was at a disadvantage in himself, but I think he and Angel had somewhat skived during the build up in that they hadn't studied Herrera, they didn't try to get an idea of how capable they thought he was, and it very nearly cost them the fight. Herrera was underrated before this fight, he beat Ruslan Provodnikov, he had a few good wins, at least one invalid defeat, I'm not sure why it was 'a day off', 'an easy opponent for Garcia', according to many. Herrera was so well prepared in this fight, his jab caused Garcia a lot of problems, he was confident he could take Garcia's power, and he could, this was good, because he was able to land the jab going forward, follow it up with the right hand in a way which would stop Garcia's response, throw him off his rhythm. Herrera seemed so well prepared for Garcia's left hook, he missed with that shot a lot, the Garcias won't have expected to struggle to hit Herrera.

Herrera won the battle of the jabs in this fight, and yes, in the trenches, he did out fight Garcia, seem to be able to thrive in a brawl, but these brief periods of time in the fight, we're just that, Herrera battered Garcia, in spots, yes in rounds 9 and 12, Garcia took more punishment and was made to pay physically, more than Herrera, but consistently, through the majority of the last half of the fight, and in rounds 5 and 6 to a lesser extent, he was the one landing more often, with better, more accurate power punches, the right hand was fantastic, and he landed it often enough to win the rounds in my opinion, he went to the body as well, I think Garcia did a very good job of working around that terrific jab of Herrera, and a jab isn't necessarily the technical be all and end all in a boxing fight, sometimes superior technical fighters can be beaten to the jab often, but use their ofter weapons to out land, out time their opponent.

Although I, unlike most, agree with this decision, it has to be said, for the Garcias, this was a close one, I think Angel Garcia, as head trainer, should have done more research on Herrera in advance, made 100% (when his fighter's world title is at steak) sure, that they weren't underestimating the challenger. I think the rematch after this fight was necessary, because Garcia won, but not decisively, not conclusively, I think instead of fighting Rod Salka, who was well below optimum, they should have been fair, and given Herrera the opportunity which he, I think, earned with his fantastic performance in this fight.
