Prediction,

Good test for Dubois.
This is a real step up for Dubois, because the experience and durability of Johnson, none of Dubois's previous opponents come close, I think after 8 fights, no bad rounds, a lot of early knockouts, 18 months in the pro game, this step up is coming at the right time, obviously, Dubois has a lot to learn, so it is good for him that Johnson is a stepping stone, not a puncher, old, with a lot of miles, and with a busy schedule. It is Johnson's experience that is interesting about this fight, he should give Dubois rounds, but Dubois should win this no problem.

Dubois proved he has good stamina against Little, who took him into round 5, when he had previously never been into round 4, and Dubois got him out of there, but Dubois has still never been 6 rounds, still needs to adapt to that distance. Dubois has power, we know that, and he is still maturing, so in his prime, he will be a dangerous fighter, it would be a statement if he stopped Johnson, Johnson has only been stopped twice, but Johnson isn't as durable as he used to be.

If Dubois boxes a good, solid 10 rounds, wins 7-10 of the rounds, that's not a bad result for him, it's a learning fight, it's good experience.

I think Dubois will stop Johnson in 6, I think the first couple of rounds will be interesting, close rounds, Johnson will have success, but the younger, more dangerous fighter, the better boxer will settle down in rounds 3 and 4, start to take Johnson apart in round 5, attack head and body, and get Johnson out of there, make a statement.

Matchroom's picture

Dubois is still not good and his power is still vastly overrated. Gorman smashes him.

That was what we call a learning fight, Johnson was poor, very negative, didn't give Dubois any openings. There were a couple of things Dubois could have done differently, but went 10 rounds, proved he can throw a lot of punches for 10 rounds, an every shot he throws is heavy, even the jab, he was working at his own pace, but still.
