This was a farce of the heavyweight title bout, the quality level of both fighters already relegated this title fight into a sideshow as the public would see the winner of this bout as transitional champion, the early stoppage and unsatisfying, inconclusive ending made matters even worse. It would've been OK as a classic stay-busy fight but it hardly deserved to be an eliminator, let alone championship fight. Martin should be thankful for the incredibly favourable circumstances that resulted in him becoming world champion, Glazkov was a mandatory challenger anyway but Martin received a title shot because the champion was (unexpectedly) stripped of a world title, and the fact that he was ranked no.3 contender by the IBF proved once again how spineless are the rankings of major sanctioning bodies - especially if you look at all the names ranked behind him. And as an icing on the cake, Martin won the belt because his opponent injured himself. I didn't rate Glazkov highly, his fights against Malik Scott, Derric Rossy and past-it cruiserweights Adamek and Cunningham didn't convince me he was capable of holding his own at the highest level, but I still believed he would score the decision and grab the belt. I thought Martin did better in the first two rounds, mostly working behind the jab, Glazkov has always been a slow starter, the reach disadvantage and size difference bothered him at the beginning, but he was slowly figuring him out and timing his jabs, unfortunately the injury messed everything up, the first fall was already bad but the second one was an ultimate killer. It honestly feels like all the luck available for this fight was given to Martin and none to Glazkov, Martin was an unknown commodity coming into this bout and suddenly became world heavyweight champion that made some nice money on Joshua fight soon after, meanwhile Glazkov completely torn his ACL and dislocated his knee, his career suddenly took on a downward spiral, to the point where he was forced to retire. He's doing well these days though, apparently he became an owner of a smaller truck driving company (some news falsely reported that he's working as a truck driver), which is probably better for him anyway, I honestly don't think he would've made much money from boxing.

But I thought Martin "walked the earth like a God".
