Prediction,

Figueroa seems like he could be a good fighter, he is only 21, 16-0, good start, he's competed at 118, and he is now at 126, at his age, he is bound to move up, and at 5'8, he is tall for 126. Figueroa is untested, but he did stop Giovanni Delgado, Victor Proa, fighters who have been in with the likes of Emmanuel Rodriguez, Joseph Diaz, and in his last fight, Figueroa stopped another unbeaten fighter in one round, so although he is obviously untested at his age, so far, so good. Hopefully, if Brandon has as much talent as his brother Omar, he won't waste it the way Omar has been and still is doing.

Escandon isn't bad, I don't think he is much better than Delgado if better at all, but he is still no bum.

Escandon was never a world champion, but he does have world title experience, he has wins over Cuellar, Castellanos. Escandon fell short when he fought Moises Flores, but it was a close fight, he was stopped in 7 rounds against Russell, and in his last fight, he lost to Nyambayar in 3 rounds. Coming off two stoppage wins in a row, at 34, Escandon is past his best, but he might still come prepared, try his best, and make it a decent fight, he didn't look terrible against Nyambayar or Russell, he was just in against very good fighters, and was open to getting hit clean.

I think think this will be competitive for a few rounds, Escandon's experience and ruggedness might give Figueroa some problems, but as the rounds go on, the bigger, younger fighter, and probably the better fighter will win more rounds, do the better work, and take more of a toll. I think Figueroa will stop Escandon, maybe in 8 rounds.

Best fight of the night.

Matchroom's picture

Can't believe they showed 10 fights out of 13 total but didn't show James DeGale.

Matchroom's picture

Escandon really came on in the mid rounds, B-Fig took back over in the last 2.
