Prediction,

Good fight.

Crolla and Yordan are both 31, not young, not old, so the winner of this fight might get a final career world title shot, but the loser of this fight might never fight for a world title again. Crolla is a former world champion, Yordan is not, so you could say Yordan needs this win more than Crolla.

Crolla and Yordan have both had 42 fights, both are very experienced professionals, both have done between 250 and 275 rounds, so they have a very similar amount of professional experience.

Yordan has 62% KOs, Crolla has 31% KOs, so Yordan, highly likely the puncher in this fight.

Activity seems to be on Crolla's side, Yordan last fought in April, went 7-8 rounds, Crolla last fought at the end of March, 3 weeks earlier, but he went 10 rounds, but more importantly, when Yordan last fought, he came off just over a year out, Crolla did 12 rounds against Ricky Burns in October 2017, and in March 2017, the same time as Yordan's fight before his last, Crolla fought Linares in the rematch, and Yordan only went 1-2 rounds in 2017.

In terms of form, they are both coming off at least two wins, but Yordan hasn't lost since 2013, Crolla lost last year.

In terms of resume, who has been in with the better opponents, it is interesting, because until 2015, all Crolla's fights had been below world level, Yordan had already fought Chris John for a world title, Robert Guerrero, Celestino Caballero as well, but in recent years, as Crolla has fought Perez, Barroso, Burns, and most of all, Linares, twice, he has been fighting at a higher level, so overall, it is interesting, but I think because Crolla has the win over Perez, beat Burns as well, but especially the Perez win, because he won the title, I think that takes his resume up a notch.

Both fighters have a few losses, but Crolla has more, 6, Yordan has 3, both have lost at world level, they fought Caballero, John, Linares, both lost, but Crolla didn't just blast throught his British level opponents, he was beaten by Gary Sykes, Derry Matthews, but really, it makes his world title success more inspirational, especially given he seemed unlikely to ever fight again after the attack that rendered him with a fractured skull.

Crolla and Yordan seem to be almost the same size, both are fairly consistent lightweights, Crolla is the more experienced lightweight, and Yordan did jump up two divisions, but that was 5 years ago.

Crolla has been down a couple of times in his career, he went down against Linares, went down agaisnt Matthews, and he isn't a fresh fighter, took punishment against Linares both times, Barroso, Matthews, but I think Crolla has a better chin than Yordan, because Yordan has been down 5 times, he isn't a fresh fighter himself.

I think who wins this fight might be about who wants it more, who has the extra desire, Yordan needs the win more you might think, but it is hard not to lean towards Crolla in a 50/50 fight, when it becomes about determination, so I think Crolla might edge this fight.

I think this will be a very entertaining fight, in terms of sheer fighting entertainment, it might be the fight of the night, I think Yordan will land with more hurtful head shots, do the better work at times, but Crolla will land with the more hurtful body shots, do a lot more work, be relentless, and although I think it will be close, maybe even an SD, I think Crolla will win.

My prediction is Crolla by SD.

Great performance from Anthony Crolla.
Crolla should get a world title shot next, he won the eliminator, apart from Luke Campbell, he is the most deserving challenger in the division.
